Job Description:
Our well-known client headquartered in Lake Forest is seeking a
Senior Accountant to join their accounting function to assist with
various technical facets of their accounting and reporting
operations along with general G/L exposure and various ad hoc
requests. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of
Accounting. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not
limited to, the following: Prepare various journal entries for
balance sheet accounts and related period end reconciliations
Support lease accounting matters in accordance with ASC 842 by
reviewing leases, lease modifications, and lease classifications
Assist in the preparation of external audits and SOX compliance by
reviewing documentation and processes Assist with the period end
close process with heavy involvement in G/L account
reconciliations, and related analysis Provide support in other
areas such as fixed assets, property tax, and intangible assets
Participate in ad-hoc accounting projects and identify areas for
process improvements and efficiencies The qualified Senior
Accountant will possess: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,
Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting;
CPA preferred At least 4 years of accounting experience; prior
public accounting experience preferred Strong month-end close
experience Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail,
interpersonal skills with senior management, and polished
presentation skills Solid Excel skills required including VLookup,
Sum/If, Match, and Pivot Tables Prior experience with Great Plains
preferred The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment along
with being pro-active, organized, and team oriented For additional
