EMPHASIS: Coordinate and prepare financial reports for the
President and Board of Directors, handle financial duties in-house
including oversight of revenue entry, expense and invoices, and
other financial matters. Fluent with QuickBooks Online
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: President of Lutheran Braille Workers
IN OFFICE POSITION - Must be local to the Yucaipa, CA area
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Handle in-house financial duties
including Accounts Payable/Receivable, billing, and other duties
and serve as liaison to current accounting firm and audit firm.
2. Enter information into Quickbooks Online and use this software
to provide financial reports for the President and Board of
Directors on a monthly/quarterly/annual/as-needed basis.
3. Monitor and supervise the proper entry of donor gifts into donor
management software, ensure receipts and thank-you letters are
properly and timely prepared and sent, and oversee end of year tax
receipts for donors. Maintain donor estate records and provide
follow-up when estate gifts are not properly received.
4. Provide financial reports, documents, and other information for
grant applications or grant reporting in a timely manner.
5. Process all financial documents and records from county, state,
or federal sources as needed.
6. Ensure IRS and other government regulations are being followed
in all aspects of donor and other financial matters. Oversee
completion of the annual Form 990 report.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: There are a number of tasks within or outside
the department that the employee will be expected to perform
including but not limited to: answering the telephone; working on
team projects such as mailings; delivering of supplies to ministry
centers and post office; working conventions or servant events,
overnight or weekend travel will be occasionally required
throughout the year.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Christian with a passion for
ministry, sharing the Gospel, and serving the community of people
who are Blind or Visually Impaired. Must have 7 to 10 years of
financial and office management experience with a Bachelor's
Degree. Must have significant experience with Quickbooks or
Quickbooks Online, or similar financial software, have knowledge in
Microsoft Suite Software, and ability to operate in a donor
management software (such as Salesforce). Have the ability to
communicate verbally with donors, volunteers, churches, and other
organizations in a positive, professional manner required! Able to
provide leadership for staff, set goals, and celebrate success.
Must be able to write in a mature and professional manner. Must be
organized and have the ability to follow directions and complete
tasks in a timely manner. Able to work independently and be a
self-starter. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in
accounting, leadership, or other business background preferred.
